    About the Role

    We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior CPA to support financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting operations. In this role, you will work closely with senior accountants to prepare financial statements, update financial data, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. Your responsibilities will include assisting with audits, processing journal entries, and analyzing financial records for accuracy. Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles are essential for success in this role.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
    • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly financial reports.
    • Update financial data in databases to ensure accuracy.
    • Assist in reviewing payroll records, expenses, and other assigned financial items.
    • Process income statements, balance sheets, and other financial statements in compliance with legal, financial, and accounting guidelines.
    • Perform reconciliations, update accounts payable and receivable, and issue invoices.
    • Process financial entries to ensure accurate recording of all business transactions.
    • Develop monthly financial statements, including profit and loss statements, cash flow records, and balance sheets.
    • Examine and analyze journal and ledger entries, bank statements, inventories, expenditures, tax returns, and other financial documents to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
    • Prepare detailed reports on audit findings and recommend improvements to accounting and management practices.
    • Develop and maintain cost-finding, reporting, and internal control procedures.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or in the process of obtaining a CPA designation).
    • 1 to 3 years of experience in accounting or related fields.
    • Strong understanding of the accounting cycle and financial reporting.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities effectively, and work autonomously.
    • Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
    • Strong analytical skills, initiative, and willingness to learn.
    • Professionalism, discretion, and strong interpersonal skills.
    • Rigorous in collecting and validating financial information.
    • Bilingual: French and English.
